The History of Mancino's Pizza and Grinders
The "Grinder" had it's earliest beginnings on the east coast during the WWI era when Italian immigrants set up sandwich shops close to the shipyards. These homemade sandwiches were a favorite of the hardworking men who ground off rivets in the metal war ships. The friendly shop owners referred to these men as "grinders" and the ever popular sandwiches also came to be known as "Grinders".

Mancino's Pizza and Grinder Shops were established by Samuel Mancino, Sr. in the late 1950's in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. The original concept is still prevalent in all the Mancino's shops today. The original recipes and good customer relations have never changed.

The Mancino's team insist on providing products which are high in quality, freshness, and generous in portions. We will never compromise our quality for any gimmick or profit.

Mancino's of Mackinaw City is located just off of I 75 exit 337, across from the Welcome Center on Nicolet St. Our hours of operation are Monday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., during the summer season 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express, local checks only please.
